Cocain
Effects of Cocaine addiction
One of the major problems that the current society is confronted with is the problem of cocaine addiction. Though the issue has not become very popular, the issue continues to be considered as a serious one since the after effects of this problem are usually severe ranging from physical damage to mental illness. There are times when this problem has proven to be fatal too.
Effects of this cocain intake can be categorized into two. They are the short term and the long term effects. The type of the effect on an individual depends on the intensity and frequency of drug usage by the individual.
Short Term Effects
If you consume cocain just once, then you are likely to experience the short term effects of the drug usage. A few of them constitute reduction in appetite, enlarged pupils, slurred speech and an elevated body temperature. You would also feel that you are relatively more alert mentally if you are into a one time usage of this drug. Your heart rate is likely to get elevated and you feel that you are enormously energized with the one time consumption of this drug.
But if you try using this drug once, then the elevated mental alertness and the raised energy levels induces a craving for the drug in you. You tend to feel that you become more productive at work when you take this drug. This feeling often induces uncontrollable cravings in you. This forces you to take the drug again and again. On a regular usage, the cocaine tolerance in your system increases and you tend to consume more of this drug to get the same effects with time.
Some start using cocain with the aim of loosing weight. Since the drug reduces appetite, they start with the intake of this drug for one time and this results in cocaine addiction in the long run.
Long Term Effects
With the regular usage of cocaine, the tolerance level increases. If you continue to use cocaine for an extended timeframe, then you tend to take more of this drug to achieve the so called high state.
With a very regular and continued usage, you are likely to experience cardiac problems, respiration difficulties, issues related to the gastro intestine, seizures and coma. The other common health problems that you are very likely to confront include nausea, elevated body temperatures, spasm in muscles and obscured vision.
In exclusion to the physical problems, you are likely to experience psychological troubles too. They constitute hallucinations, delusions, paranoia, increased irritations, restlessness and tarnished relationship both at home and workplace.
Increased and frequent drug usage can also lead to frequent absenteeism at the workplace. This in turn can lead to firing from employment. In the long run, getting addicted to cocaine can result in financial instability/crisis.
As such, it is better that you keep yourself away rather than repenting after getting addicted to this drug. It is better late than never. If you are planning to experiment, better stay away from it. I you have just tasted it, stop here. Let your life be peaceful without cocaine.
