A Little more of Cocaine!
We say that anything taken beyond the limit is unacceptable. Cocaine, which is obtained from coca plant, is a stimulant that disturbs the central nervous system. This has also proven to suppress the appetite of a person. There are various ways of administering cocaine. We can take in cocaine either orally or through injections or by puffing the drug.
Let us see the problems one may have to face when drug is taken beyond limits
When you sniff or puff cocaine you may land up taking 0.1 to 0.2 grams of cocaine. In other words, we say 2 to 4 lines. When you take the cocaine orally, it may be around 1.2 grams. When it is injected, it will be around 750 to 800 mg of fatal dose. If the person injects about 500mg, then it is a lethal dose. You never know how much of cocaine you take in when you inhale Hence sniffing cocaine is always dangerous. Cocaine overdose can have drastic effects which can lead even to death of that person. Side effects of cocaine may lead to insane hallucinations. One such illustration is the person might always fear that somebody is following him.
Sometimes this cocaine overdose may lead to malfunctioning of heart or respiratory system which in turn might lead to death particularly when it is taken through veins or when it is smoked or sniffed. You can expect one to die within minutes when cocaine is injected. Isn’t it too fatal? Even when you smoke cocaine the effect is going to be the same. Basing cocaine may also lead to dangerous consequences. However such cocaine overdose rarely happens.
However cocaine overdose may be a rare event. But, a little more of cocaine will always show its effects.
Effects on Heart and blood vessels: When cocaine is overtaken functioning of heart may not be regular leading to heart failure. It may lead to hypertension thereby leading to bleeding in the brain. This in turn may lead to brain hemorrhage causing one to die.
Convulsion: A person who takes cocaine overdose may get frequent convulsions which in turn may lead to loss of consciousness.
Respiratory troubles: There might be some respiratory trouble sleading to failure of the respiratory functions.
You can never judge that this amount of cocaine is an overdose for this person under this condition. That’s just not practically possible to say. As this depends on various other factors such as physical conditions of that person or diseases he may be suffering or he may even be allergic to it. Evidently if the person has some heart or blood relating problems, he/she will sure react to this overdose. Cocaine along with other narcotic drugs or even with alcohol may lead to increase in the risk. As cocaine is found in cut ups, it is extremely difficult to decide the exact amount of dosage as cocaine overdose.
According to the medicinal professionals, a dose can be either fatal or lethal. For them fatal dose is one percent death and in case of lethal dose, it is fifty percent death. Anyway you take less or more amount of cocaine still you are prone to overdose and risks. So take care.

this is way off… i have snorted 7 balls of coke within 2 hours (24 grams) and felt fully numb but no major respitory problems or head damage of any kind. since coke has a half life of 2 hours and fully leaves your system in less than 4 days… it is 1 of the safest recreational drugs except that of pot
Cocaine is so dangerous anyon ewho is addicted to this drug really really needs help and we need to do what we can to help our family and friend that re addiced to such horrible substances.
In these days there are a lot of people with cocaine problems, big problems. Each day younger men and women are addicted to cocaine.
great post
there are a lot of things your body will do in order to alert you that you are having an overdose. your heart beating quickly isnt an exact indicator that you are overdosing. an irregular heart beat just mite mean you are in trouble. obviously, you need to know your limit to every drug you do. always have Valium around in case you have an emergency…

Great share..thank you so much.
A cocaine overdose can result regardless of the route of administration. However, the risk of an overdose and its chances of being fatal increase when cocaine is injected. Smoking followed by intranasal use of cocaine appears to be the next riskiest ways of administration that increase the chance of an overdose and fatality
Bobby has been subscribed for oxycodone and has been taking 40-60 mg per day for about 4 months. Bobby got his hands on some pure coke and decided to take a few lines on a pleasant friday evening. It has been around 6 hours since Bobby took 15 mg oxycodone by crushing it up and snorting and now Bobby takes 0.2 grams of pure cocaine over the period of 2 hours. At the end Bobby starts feeling that its not where he wants to be. He feels light pain in his chest and the affect of cocaine is not what Bobby has been experiencing when he did it last 5 years ago. Bobby waited for about 1.5 hours and then took 10 mg of oxycodone to come down, on top of that 1 mg of xanex. Bobby felt good at the end and thanked god that nothing serious happened. Is there anything Bobby should be concerned about? because Bobby used to take 1.5 grams of cocaine over the night and feel great.
Hi all.
I have just finished a major Forensic Toxicology Assignment where I reviewed over 10 papers from a range of perspectives on this topic and had to write about it.
Probably the best and one of the most medically exhaustive papers I studied was “The Pathophysiology of Cocaine Abuse”. Anyone considering doing Coke should first read this or anyone who still uses it.
The potential consequences of cocaine use are absolutely horrific and the statistics speak for themselves. It is the greatest single drug related killer in the US. We don’t generally see this poison in Australia but have a significant problems with methamphetamine.
Another outstanding paper is “Cocaine: History, Social Implications, and Toxicity – A Review”. Think people.
Okay, but just be aware that cocaine is known to cause brain hemorrhage (probably at the time of “the rush” because that is the time blood pressure goes skyrocketing and blood vessels vaso-constrict. Ugh!!).
Furthermore it directly causes stroke, even more so in the case of “freebase” and “crack” cocaine.
Perhaps worse is the necrosis (tissue death) it causes all throughout the body, particularly the heart muscle, but much more visibly in the nasal septum which commonly perforates (develops a hole) – Ugh!!
Statistically, it is the biggest killer drug in the US and in 20% of autopsies of cocaine users show cocaine induced heart disease. It actually causes considerable cell death in the heart and can do so in the liver, bowel and kidneys. It frequently causes pulmonary hemorrhage (acute bleeding from the lung)and did I mention: inter-cerebral hemorrhage along with cerebral tissue necrosis and cerebral thrombosis.
I don’t mean to “rain” on your parade, but withdrawal (the worst of it over in a week) is the least of the problems you are likely to suffer.
Consider friends …
By the way I not at all against the Coca plant. What I have read about Andean Coca is entirely positive and very difficult to abuse.
There is a reason why these sorts of plants were created.
Unfortunately, with all our so called “cleverness” we don’t seem to have the wisdom to use these things intelligently.
i just did a ball over about 12 hours. my heart is racing and having a little trouble breathing. gonna take a 4 bar xanax…smart? also, i have epilepsy. i know, i know but i love drugs
Patients who present to the ED with cocaine toxicity often also have other drugs present; in fact, the combined use of alcohol and cocaine may be the major cause of drug-related deaths.
You can definately die from an overdose on cocaine, and it diesnt matter how much you use, it matters about your body, cocaine makes the heart beat faster, and if it is your first time using then there is always the possibility that you can put your body and have a heart attack. I remember hearing about a basket ball player a while ago who was drafted into the NBA and he was a great player, and tried cocaine one time and dies immediately. Besides that fact if you dint die you always risk the chance of becoming addicted and I work in a rehab and I se eit every day, and it is very hard to come off of drugs once your addicted so I would think before you do it.
Well cocaine is not a recreational drug but was meant to be a natural in those parts of Colombia why should we abuse drugs? That post is just on time but sounds like we should encourage coke! Does it? My opinion is that we look for other a bit safe recreational drugs
In 1879 cocaine began to be used to treat morphine addiction. Cocaine was introduced into clinical use as a local anesthetic in Germany in 1884, about the same time as Sigmund Freud published his work Über Coca, in which he wrote that cocaine causes
exhilaration and lasting euphoria, which in no way differs from the normal euphoria of the healthy person..
