Cocaine Withdrawal

Abstinence Syndrome of Crack Cocaine

Pure cocaine is considered to be the most abused substance across the world due to its ill effects.  The availability of pure cocaine is in the form of white powder.  The smooth and fine texture can mix well with other powders like baking soda and sugar powder.  The sellers of the drug can reap more profits by adding baking soda or any other powder to increase its weight.  The addicts of the drug never think about the purity and harmfulness of the substance that they use it and get into trouble.  The long-term use of cocaine may lead to psychological and physiological problems.  The unending list of dreadful effects does not reduce the craze amongst the users.  It is difficult for the addicts to withdraw from the drug due to many withdrawal symptoms.  The rehab clinics are filled with such addicts, who have mental and physical damage due to the regular use of this drug.

Different Ways of Cocaine Intake

The users used to smoke or sniff to get the ‘euphoria’.  When the powder is sniffed through nose, the respiratory organs get severely affected by the drug.  The organs can recover only after the withdrawal of the drug.  The cocaine withdrawal symptoms may be mild and easily curable by treatment such as nasal congestion, nose bleeding and running nose.  Proper medicines, clean environment and fresh air circulation will solve the nasal problems easily.

Cocaine Withdrawal Symptoms

People normally become nervous and weak as soon as they withdraw from the use of the drug.  Giving them confidence is very important at that stage.  The addicts are ready to forego any thing like food, shelter and sleep in order to get the drug.  As they are mentally weak, they get mild headaches, which may lead to insomnia.  Excessive anxiety and fear prevail due to inefficiency.  Such panic disorders are quite common during the withdrawal period.

When the body depends more on the illegal drug it reflects as muscle spasms too.  The dependency level of the drug is so high that the mind and body do not cooperate to work without the use of this dreadful drug. When the need for the drug increases, the addicts suffer a lot from violent symptoms.  It is quite common at the initial stage of withdrawal because it is difficult for the body to function without crack.  Gradually the system does the cleaning process that muscles and convulsions work as normal.

Severe cough is the common ailment at the time of withdrawal. The patient is likely to experience chest pain occasionally.  Phlegm released during cough is normally black in color.  If blood appears along with phlegm then it is considered to be a serious problem.  By taking proper medicines and good amount of water and fluids, the patients can alleviate the condition.

Yes.. stopping cocaine immediately will affect a person’s health.. it will make them get severe health problems.. rather than you can try to stop it little by little with proper medication..

Recovering from cocaine addiction requires proper prescription and dosages of medicines. These will be increased as the days increase when you get used to the medicines.. Provided it will be continued only if you don’t have any side effects…

You are absolutely correct about the symptoms of withdrawals; it is not only very common with drug abuse but also with alcohol abuse. During detox some of the symptoms in addition to cough include feverish sweating, and convulsions. Cocaine in any form is a danger to the body and to detox from it is never easy.

  5. It use to take hours for me to fall asleep as I am a hyper person (which I guess makes sense being a personal trainer), I find it hard to relax. In a weird way this music open’s up my mind and I feel like I am in some natural dream land of complete peace. All I know is that then next morning I am refreshed and energetic for my clients

  11. When you hit bottom and decide to really go to rehab, it is really sad when you cannot be allowed in because it is winter, and all the homeless street addicts have decided to attend rehab so they can have a warm place to sleep for the winter.
It’s a rough world out there, and the decisions we make today will affect our tomorrow.I am talking about my daughter, I love her but am powerless to help her. I can only pray for her and know God hears me and is at work on her behalf. She will not allow anyone to help her, only her therapist….but if we can come up with 7 to 10,000 dollars, there are places all over the country with open arms, Arizona, California, ect.
I wonder if Washington has a bailout for us, we could use it here….

  12. From my own personal experience with a similar drug, everything you are going through sounds like “normal” withdrawal symptoms. Just hang in there. Soon enough you will find yourself going back to feeling like a regular person again.
