Cocaine, which holds the scientific name benzoylmethyl ecgonine, is available from coca leaves in crystalline form. It stimulates the nervous system and also acts as an appetite suppressant. Cocaine creates harmful effects physically and mentally, so it is considered as an illegal drug. The purity of the drug is not yet defined, so, the adulteration of this drug with various substances make it more harmful and addictive. Cocaine sulfate, crack cocaine and freebase are the different forms of illegal cocaine. Let us discuss about crack cocaine and its effects in this article.
High Potential Crack Cocaine
This drug is available in crystal form or in black solid form. Since heating it makes a cracking sound, it has got the name as crack cocaine. It is found in pure form and is considered to be more effective and stronger than any other forms of cocaine. Today, the society is facing the biggest problem of crack addiction. It has attracted all levels of people in the country. Addiction to the drug induces people to do anything in many scenarios.
Short Period Recreation
The drug can be inhaled, smoked or sniffed to get the sensation of ‘high’. The powerful chemicals in crack get absorbed by the lungs rapidly. Lungs carry the chemicals to your brain through bloodstream. This leads to cardiac arrest, coma, nervous disorder and even death. The pleasure received by the users can exist only for 5-7 minutes.
Various Street Terms for Crack
As it is the illicit drug it is known in different names in order to hide the identity. It is known as beat, kryptonite, scrabble, topo [Spanish], base, candy crunch, munch, raw, sugar block and troop.
Ill Effects of Crack
The effect of this illegal drug exists in the system for a long period and few effects lie for a shorter period. Crack reduces the life span of a person. Sleeplessness, depression, edginess and fatigue are the most common effects. It escalates the heartbeat. The non- availability of the drug and insufficient pleasure from the drug make the users restless and hostile. The regular usage of the drug may lead to heart attacks, respiratory failures and stroke. In some cases, this may prove fatal too. Chest pain and bleeding is quite common amongst the users.
Short Term Effects & Long Term Effects
The short term effects of crack are depression, anxiety, increased heart rate, nausea, dilated pupils, loss of appetite, high body temperature, high blood pressure and constricted peripheral blood vessels. Increase in the quantity of crack may result in sudden death.
The long term effects of crack cocaine are breathing problems, loss in weight, malnutrition, severe depression, disturbance in mood, damage in liver, kidney and lungs, tooth decay, dysfunction in sex, damage to genitals, addiction after one use and severe sweating.
Difficulty in Treatment
It is very difficult to eliminate the habit of the intake of the drug. The permanent treatments are not so successful in case of the addicts. It has to be treated emotionally by insulting and under-estimating them or by giving severe punishments which in turn may result in psychological problems too.

Crack is the most heinous drug ever. Mnay years ago when I used and actually enjoyed pot there was a certain social aspect to getting high a mutual sharing and good will. Not with crack it is all about the user and what the user can get from whoever is closest. It is the worst thing I ever did and am glad to have that chapter of my life behind me. Drug addiction is a plague of 21st century. Personally, i have never taken drugs and will never do this mistake. However, one of my friends is a drug addict and he really looks horrible.

Coke doesn’t remain in the human body like marijuana does.
Drug testing for cocaine isn’t really very effective. MOst adicts can quit long enough to pass a drug test.
Meanwhile a marijuana smoker will have THC in their system for well over 30 days on up to 45 days.
Drug testing really does target the pot smokers. Marijuana smokers are usually non violent people and don’t deserve to be targeted the way they are.
By targeting pot smokers the US government has declared war on most of it’s own population. recent surveys prove that more people in the USA use cannabis than citizens that don’t use cannabis.

Honestly I would never see myself taking drugs. I know a few people who does it and they are in a very bad state needing a lot of help. What is worse is as they get a penny they spend it on drugs so they will never get better!

Cocaine is a hell of a drug! Seriously though, whatever you consume drug wise is 100% up to you, I’m not one to tell you what and what not to do simply because I am not you. With that said, stay educated and be careful if you choose to do drugs recreationally.

Although illegal drugs aren’t the greatest things to be addicted to, I think there are worse things like the addiction people have to foods and drinks. At least when someone is addicted to cocaine they KNOW it’s not doing them any good, but someone addicted to chocolate or caffeine doesn’t think of it being as that bad and even justifies it by discovering research that says “chocolate is good for you because it has antioxidants in it” etc etc
